15 June 2010 Dear Colleague Hopefully we have now all the “Missing –in action” NATO Veterans of Canada on our Master List-you included. When Thom Joordens passed away, we –in Ottawa – have tried to pick up the pieces and get moving on – as Thom would have wanted. Alas we were left here in Ottawa with no mailing list – so we had to start from scratch. Right or wrong we started with the people who had Emails as we found a List of them we could start with. That was in December and we are only now finishing off – we hope – the List. For that not on email, we had – and still have – a problem. We could not even get something as basic as typewriter ribbon for the typewriter we have – how quickly this information age has caught up with us! Also every individual mailing – with stamps and stationary not to mention time handling each individual letter – meant that one mailing costs close to $2 per individual per mailing. What to do ?-if you have a NATO Vet Org friend who is “on Email “, ask him or her to “buddy up” with you – Emails are now sent out in this formative stage of reorganizing weekly. Otherwise bear with us – we will get to you – however probably not as often as you like. As we organize regionally – in each province-we will also ask the regional presidents to keep in contact with you by phone So please “stay with us” – we are getting there! Please keep in touch.
